I created a short, three minute presentation on the Bot Fly. Bot Flies live mostly in South America. There are a few types of Bot Flies. I focused on the Horse Bot Fly, the Human Bot Fly, and the Sheep's Nose Bot Fly. All Bot Flies are internal parasites that use their host's to develop during their larval stages. When the bot Fly leaves its host, it pupates for about a week them emerges as an adult. I focused my research on weather or not the bot fly is as scary and dangerous as it looks. I found that while some complications can occur, Bot Flies typically do not cause harm to their hosts. This is because If the host dies, so does the Bot Fly. Therefore it is crucial for the Bot Fly that their host stays alive. NOTICE: there are some graphic pictures in the presentation. Open with caution!
